The Other Amazing Jonathan (aka [info]lordofthesynth) made a comment in my last post that was spot on, it turns out. For today, armed with a bank account in better shape than I'd thought and a pretty awesome 10% off/no payments or interest for a year coupon, I went in almost certain I'd be picking up either the Takamine or Martin acoustic/electric basses I'd been eyeballing for at least a couple years.

In what turned out to be a fortunate turn of events, neither of these was in stock. And with my only option being a Fender acoustic priced at $900, I was left wandering the electric bass room being underwhelmed by the selection until I saw it, nestled high up on the wall, playing hard to get. As if we'd never exchanged pleasantries. As if we were strangers.

Ours had always been a coy, polite thing. Casual, playful, teasing. But today I guess she sensed I was after something, and over the coils and background hum of an overabused Ampeg 1200 or something, she threw me against a wall and showed me how bad she wanted it and made me realize how bad I wanted it too.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Fender Geddy Lee J-Bass, the newest addition to my apartment. So sleek, so powerful, so deliciously naughty.

And tonight (and every night hereafter), she is mine.

Mmm.

Trust me. You will simply never regret that purchase.

While I spend most of my time on the 4004 these days, I still love playing the J-bass and pull it out frequently.
